Honorata pulling some stunts on Day 1 in Cooloola National Park 40km from home

We departed our home at Peregian Beach, Queensland, Australia, on February 25th at 5:45am, with close family watching on. The tip of Cape York Peninsula was our first goal, 4000km away. See photos and notes further on in this blog site to see how we went!

Sailing the Whitsundays

Three days of sailing in the Whitsundays was pleasing. Notice Honorata on the left in blue feeling a little bit "off" but pulling through and refraining from bringing up her buffet.

Whitehaven Beach is, well, stunning. It's in the Whitsundays.

Hinchinbrook Island has a limit of 40 people at a time, all of whom must be totally self-sufficient and physically fit to traverse the island. The reward for that is that you get places like Zoe Falls completely to yourself.

SCUBA diving on the Great Barrier Reef

We spent four days living aboard a dive boat on the outer reefs of the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns/Port Douglas. We did 4 to 5 dives per day, including a couple of night dives. In our humble opinions, the Great Barrier Reef is the most spectacular, most beautiful place in Australia. We can't wait to get back down there in the near future.
