Held up by traffic

We encountered negligible vehicular traffic on Cape York Peninsula, especially on the minor tracks such as Battlecamp Road, Lakefield National Park, Frenchman's Track, and the Overland Telegraph Line. The traffic that we did see was extremely courteous anyway, often stopping for a chat or slowing down to our pace as it passed! It's a different world for cyclists on Cape York. The place is up there with the best cycle touring we've ever experienced in terms of superb scenery and lack of traffic, two of the key criteria for an enjoyable time.
