Zany fun

The creek crossings on the northern half of the Overland Telegraph Line in particular are so clear it has been said by learned Cape York sages that you could place a newspaper on the bottom of the creek and still read the articles, if you were so inclined. Owing to a lack of newspapers in the area we were unable to test this claim. However, the grains of sand 5 feet under the water were clearly discernible, so the newspaper claims may indeed hold water.
